Karl Wassmann Chief Executive Officer and President, Board of Directors Karl Wassmann has served as the company's CEO and President since September 2005 and serves as a member of the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Wassmann has 25 years of worldwide experience in executive management, turnaround management and strategic consulting. Mr. Wassmann's industry experience includes healthcare, computers, and communications companies. He has served as an Officer or Director of six public companies including Wang Laboratories. Mr. Wassmann received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and his B.A. degree from Bowdoin College.
Danute "Bunki" Bankaitis-Davis, Ph.D. Executive Vice President Danute "Bunki" Bankaitis-Davis is one of the original co-founders of Source MDx and has been with the company since its inception in 1998. As Executive Vice President, she oversees commercial operations in Boulder involving laboratory, clinical and information technology functions as well as key client colaborations. Previously from 1992 to 1998, she served as a research scientist at Amgen in the areas of science (antisense and small molecule therapeutics) and technology (high-speed combinatorial synthesis). Prior to joining Amgen, Dr. Bankaitis-Davis was at Syntex Chemicals (Roche Colorado). Dr. Bankaitis-Davis received a doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of North Carolina and an M.S. in Carbohydrate Chemistry and a B.S. with honors in chemistry from Cleveland State University.
Robert Falloon Vice President, Finance and Administration Robert Falloon has responsibility as the company's Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, having joined the company in 2005. Mr. Falloon has over 25 years of worldwide experience in the medical device and biotechnology industries, serving in executive management roles with Valleylab, McKinley Medical, Medivance, and Proligo. Mr. Falloon received his Masters of Technology Management from the University of Denver, and his B.S. degree from St. Joseph's College.
Jim Walther Vice President, Business Development Jim Walther is responsible for the business development and key customer accounts. He came to the company in 2000 to manage the Business Operations and has had responsibility for sales, marketing and business development. Mr. Walther has over 20 years experience working in the medical and biotechnology industry where he managed the Surgical Research Division at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC), worked for American Home Products (now Wyeth), Fort Dodge Laboratories and Hoffmann-La Roche. Mr. Walther received his Masters in Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and his Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biomedical Science and Political Science from Colorado State University.
